Friend --

In 2013, a group of students on the south side of Chicago asked their classmates to wear orange in memory of a friend whose life had been taken by gun violence.

That single act of remembrance for a friend has grown into a nationwide movement, and on Friday, June 2nd and Saturday, June 3rd, millions of people will wear orange for National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

It's an opportunity to remember those we've lost to acts of gun violence and a moment to come together as we keep up the push for common-sense gun laws that will help put an end to gun violence in this country.

Say you'll attend a Wear Orange event happening in your area -- here are the details:

What: Gun Violence Prevention Event

Where: 2000 Convention Center Dr
Miami Beach, FL 33139

When: Saturday, June 3ʳᵈ
10:00 am

RSVP

It's up to all of us to keep fighting for steps forward on this issue. We need to keep speaking out together until Congress takes action.

Millions of people will be doing their part this week -- I hope you can get involved and make it to an event near you.

Thanks,

Traci

Bernie Sanders approves these ideas from Barack Obama

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders
1 h ·
President Trump suggested this morning that we should "add more dollars" to health care. He might want to pick up the phone and tell that to Republicans in Congress, who are trying to pass $800 billion in cuts to Medicaid and throw 23 million people off insurance so they can give tax breaks to the top 1%.
Mr. Barack Obama and You Mr. Bernie Sanders, we've been in this fight together for some time, we can not let Mr. Donald Trump destroy our Wins. "Let's fight!"
  • For the first time in our nation's history, Congress has passed comprehensive health care reform.

  • History, and I, are in your debt

I would greatly appreciate you two come together for the welfare and moral of the American people.
Sincerely
Paulo Augusto Lacaz

Judicial Watch - Because no one is above the law!

Dear Judicial Watch Supporter,

President Trump fired compromised FBI Director James Comey.  This is a great start for accountability!

But there’s more to be done...

That’s why your Judicial Watch is now in court to find out exactly why Comey covered for Hillary Clinton over and over again.

Here’s part of the official press release announcement of our lawsuit:
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information (FOIA) lawsuit to obtain Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) records relating to its “investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a non-government email server during her tenure.”
No one is above the law – including James Comey – and that’s why your JW intends to find out the truth about how the Obama administration’s FBI and Justice Department abused their powers to protect Hillary Clinton and target Donald Trump.

And so, through this lawsuit, Judicial Watch is investigating the investigators!
Congress won’t do it.  And the liberal media won’t do it.  But Judicial Watch is going to court to get the truth on this and some many other DC corruption issues.

Will you make a special donation now to support our efforts to get the truth?

Thank you!
  Sincerely,
Tom Fitton
President

Tell Volkswagen to End Its Anti-Union Campaign at Its Chattanooga Plant
The petition to Volkswagen CEO Matthias Müller says the following:
End union-busting and abuse of workers in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA.
Paulo Augusto Lacaz,
Working people from the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, will be headed to Germany for the company’s shareholder meeting this week.
They’ll have one simple message: Respect our right to bargain together for a better workplace.
Skilled trades workers voted in 2015 to come together in a union, so they could make a good living and support their families. But Volkswagen executives have refused to sit down and negotiate with workers since the vote, even ignoring a National Labor Relations Board ruling last year that ordered the company to the negotiating table.
Working people at the Chattanooga plant have been fighting nasty anti-union tactics for years now. In 2014, Tennessee politicians and out-of-state, right-wing interests ran a dirty campaign to get workers at the plant to vote against forming a union. Tennessee lawmakers did everything they could to silence the voice of workers, even going so far as to threaten to take away economic incentives from Volkswagen if they allowed people at the plant to join together in a union.
Volkswagen has continued with these deceitful tactics. The company’s refusal to negotiate with skilled trades workers is not only a reversal of its pre-election statements, but violates its own Declaration on Social Rights and Industrial Relationships.
But working people at the plant aren’t giving up. They’re taking a stand this week, and they need your support.
In Solidarity,
Tefere

TRUMPCARE IS NOT A HEALTH CARE BILL AT ALL. IT'S A MASSIVE TRANSFER OF WEALTH FROM WORKING CLASS PEOPLE TO THE WEALTHY FEW.

AFL-CIO

The House Passed an Awful Health Care Bill. Tell the Senate to Oppose It!
The petition to members of the U.S. Senate says the following:
You must oppose the new bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act. This bill would be a disaster for working people like me. It would gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions, take away health care from tens of millions of people, raise health care costs for millions more, decimate Medicaid and give a huge tax break to the super-rich and corporate CEOs, while taxing workplace health benefits. We need a health care plan that expands coverage for everyone, not one that cuts it. Please oppose this bill.

assunto:Thursday's health care vote
Paulo Augusto,
I’ve seen a lot of shameful votes come out of Congress in the past couple of years, but Thursday’s vote to pass the despicable new Republican health care bill could be the worst.
There is a glimmer of hope, though. Right now, there are several Republican senators who are against the bill or who haven’t said whether they’d support it. That’s because of the pressure people are putting on their lawmakers. We can stop this bill, but only if we show there is a groundswell against it.
We’re going to work harder than ever to stop this horrible bill—and I want to make sure you’re ready to fight with us.
We need to make this bill so toxic, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell won’t be able to bring it up for a vote.
Our principle in opposing it is simple: Everyone has a right to comprehensive, affordable health care. This bill takes us far, far in the opposite direction.
It guts protections for people with cancer, diabetes and other pre-existing conditions. It will take away health benefits from 24 million people by 2026, hurt millions more people by taxing the health benefits they get through a job, decimate Medicaid and cut funding for Medicare, while doing nothing about out-of-control prescription drug prices.
Republicans also added tons of tax breaks for the super-rich, corporations and health care CEOs—hundreds of billions of dollars, in fact—which will be paid for by cuts to health benefits for seniors, people with disabilities and families struggling to make ends meet.
In solidarity,
Rich
