Friend --
Tomorrow night I'm going to stand before Congress and deliver my last State of the Union address. And as I've been preparing, I keep thinking about the road we've travelled together over the past seven years and the success we've had in moving this country forward -- because we have done some remarkable things to make change happen. Now, in my last year in office, I'm calling on your spirit of determination and optimism -- that innate decency that has always been at the core of the American people and supporters like you -- to work with me to continue setting this country on a better, stronger course for tomorrow. Because while I could not be more proud of everything we've accomplished together, our work is not finished, and we can't afford to be complacent. We've still got big plans for the months ahead. It won't be easy -- no one ever promised that change would be easy -- but just look at how far we've come over the past seven years. We've cut our unemployment rate in half and reached record low uninsured rates. Our kids are graduating from high school in higher numbers, and we are working with countries the world over to protect our planet and make sure future generations have a safe place to call home. Today, every single person in this country has the right to marriage, no matter who they are or who they love. These are the huge and important changes we've made together and not a single step of it was easy. Just think of what we can do in this final year by applying that same determination to our work. So right now, as I prepare to address Congress and the nation tomorrow, I'm asking you to say you're still with me and still as committed as ever to leading the fight that makes life better -- because change, as always, is going to take all of us: http://my.democrats.org/Final-Stretch It's the hard work of folks like you that allows us to keep moving forward, so I really appreciate you standing with me.
